He Preserves Me

Scripture – He keeps you from all evil and preserves your life. He keeps his eye upon you as you come and go and always guards you. Psalm 121:7-8

Thoughts about what this scripture means – God promises to keep me from evil, to Preserve my life. Well keep his eye upon me wherever I go and guard me.

Application to my life – God gives me free will. But he does keep me from evil. As I read this Scripture, I was taken back to a conversation earlier this week. My attention was brought to a need that I didn’t even know existed. I learned that human traffic is going on right under my nose at a place I volunteer.

God kept me from the evil and protected me from it. I had not even seen the warning signs that others were seen. I know that the same God that keeps me from evil and protects me wants to do the same for the victims that are stuck in human trafficking.

Prayer is one thing that I can do in that situation. As I try to educate myself on what human trafficking really looks like, begin to understand how it happens, what I can do to help those who are trapped, and learn about the resources that are available to them. I know God is keeping an eye on them, even as He prepares people to help them out of the hell Satan has brought them into.

God keeps His eyes on me as I come and go. I often feel invisible, something that I had felt most of my life. People often see what I can do for them but otherwise don’t notice me. It’s reassuring to know that God sees me not just what I can do. He knows I can’t do anything without Him,and sees and loves me anyway. He sees me and nothing is hidden from Him. He guards me. He watches over me and He protects me.

Response back to God – Lord thank You for noticing me. Thank You for protecting me, for guarding me, and for keeping watch over me. Lord I pray for the people, the women, and girls that have been caught up in human trafficking. I know You came to set them free. I pray Your will would be done in that place. Change the hearts of the captives, change the heart of those who are holding them captive and protect those who are captive. Lord transform that place by Your power in Jesus name amen
