Scripture – You haven’t tried this before, but begin now. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and your cup of joy will overflow. John 16:24
Thoughts about what the scripture means – Jesus promises that when we pray using His name that we will receive and our joy will overflow.
Application to my life – I am taken back to the testimony of Reova that she shared as the founder for the Center for Women’s Ministries. She stared how she learned to trust God to provide for every need, the knowledge, the finances, the volunteers, and the resources. God not only came through, they were able to be a blessing to the landlord without even ministering to him. God truly is powerful.
God wants to do the same in me. To create this continued dependence on Him. Trusting Him enough to ask, starting now. Asking in the name of Jesus and He will allow me to receive and my cup of joy will overflow. When I do ask, and see God move, I do see my joy overflow. Sometimes I still fail to ask. Really a lot of the time I fail to ask.
Response – Lord, teach me to consistently ask in Your name.
