Scripture – “In solemn truth I tell you, anyone believing in me shall do the same miracles I have done, and even greater ones, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask him for anything, using my name, and I will do it, for this will bring praise to the Father because of what I, the Son, will do for you. John 14:13
Thoughts about what this scripture means – Jesus promises that whatever we ask in his name, he will do it so the father will be glorified.
Application to my life – God gets the glory when I ask for things in Jesus name. This verse says I could ask for anything, yet I rarely do. Why don’t I ask? I like to think it’s because I’m content, but is there more?
Am I comfortable instead of content?
Am I feeling like I don’t deserve it?
Am I afraid the answer will be no?
My concern that God will somehow not honor his word?
Do I let nose in the past keep me from the yeses now?
Response back to God Lord Let me begin to pray bold prayers again to ask for, in faith, prevent needs I see around me and the things I need within me.
