Scripture – I also tell you this—if two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask for, my Father in heaven will do it for you. Matthew 18:19
Thoughts about what this scripture means – Jesus promised that if two agree on earth concerning anything we ask, it will be done by Jesus.
Application to my life – Imagine a world where Christians laid down their differences and chose to pray in agreement. Imagine what God could and would do. I enjoy praying and know that God hears my prayers, but I can see His answers more swiftly when I pray in agreement with others. Sometime I know others are agreeing. Other times I believe two rogue Christians are praying in agreement and their prayer unite in space between earth and heaven and God hears.
When I was going through Married 4 Life with Tim, one of the things I loved is that Tim and I would join together in prayer and he would pray with and for me. That was powerful, so much that we were instructed by our marriage counselor to pray apart. We prayed over the phone because the oct of prayer connects two people on another level. I miss that because I feel like there is this who domain in my life where there is a chasm that separates us. I long for the day that my husband steps up again to lead spiritually. They day when our spirits unite in the power of agreement and opens our marriage back up to what God intended it to be.
Response back to God – Lord, I thank You for putting people in my life that I can pray in agreement with here on earth, those I know and those I haven’t met whose heart desire aligns with my prayers. Thank You for hearing and answering what we ask. Thank you for doing.
Lord, I pray for Tim to rise up and be the man that You created Him to be. To see himself as You see him and to take his place as spiritual leader in out home that we may unite in prayer of agreement once again.
I pray in agreement with my Ignite family for a place of our own to hold church. Open the doors for the location You would send us out from as we are equipped to be Your hands and feet. Unite us together in prayer for the needs of our city. In Jesus name, amen
