Victorious

Scripture – How we thank God for all of this! It is he who makes us victorious through Jesus Christ our Lord! 1 Corinthians 15:57

Thoughts about what this Scripture means – I am victorious through Christ.

Application to my life – Victory – Lexicon :: Strong’s G3534 – nikos – to utterly vanquish

Utterly vanquish, it is an interesting picture of victory. As I look back at my life, I see a lot utterly vanquished in the war against my flesh. There is so much of my old life that is completely gone. I don’t even recognize who I was back then.

Then the looming thought of all that still needs to be vanquished hits me. Yet, there is hope because my victory comes through Jesus Christ. I am victorious over my emotional disconnect through Christ. I am victorious over emotional eating and binging in Christ. I am victorious over shallow relationships through Christ. Through Christ I am victorious.

Response back to God – What other areas do I need victory Lord? Continue to work out Your victory in me. Also continue to reveal to me areas where I still need Your victory so that I can surrender those areas to You work out.
