Scripture – But be sure in deciding these matters that you are living as God intended, marrying or not marrying in accordance with God’s direction and help, and accepting whatever situation God has put you into. This is my rule for all the churches. 1 Corinthians 7:17
Thoughts About What This Scripture Means – I am called.
Application to My Life – Being called, living as God intended in accordance with God’s direction and help, Accepting where God has placed me. That is a pretty deep definition spelled out.
Am I living as God intended? God has brought me a long way, but I’ve still a long way to go. I know I’m on the right path.
Do I go as God directs? Some days yes. But in order to go where He directs, I have to be seeking His direction. In some areas I do. Other areas I don’t consistently.
Do I accept God’s help? When it’s God Himself, yes. When it’s an identified need and He sends someone, yes usually. If I need to identify the need, not so much. If I have to ask anyone besides God, rarely. This is a big area of weakness in my life. I acknowledge in my weakness God can be made strong.
Do I accept where God has placed me? Yes, most usually (I’m not consistent enough to say always). If I do accept, why do I sometimes search to get out?
Response back to the Lord – Lord, these were some easy questions with tough revealing answers. Help me to live as You intended, in accordance with Your direction and help. Let me accept the situations You place me in. In Jesus name Amen.
