Scripture – For it is from God alone that you have your life through Christ Jesus. He showed us God’s plan of salvation; he was the one who made us acceptable to God; he made us pure and holy and gave himself to purchase our salvation. 1 Corinthians 1:30
Thoughts about what the scripture means – I have been placed into Christ by God’s doing. I am acceptable, pure, and holy because of Jesus Christ. Thank you.
Application to my life – I often feel like I am not acceptable, like I am overlooked, insignificant and forgettable.
It is easier for me to say I am pure and holy. Because Christ’s blood covers me and that is what God sees the pure and holy. Jesus paid for it all on the cross.
According to the international standard Bible encyclopedia definition of
ACCEPTABLE, a.
1. That may be received with pleasure; hence pleasing to a receiver; gratifying; as an acceptable present.
2. Agreeable or pleasing in person; as, a man makes himself acceptable by his services or civilities
I am acceptable. God receives me with favor. He takes pleasure in me I can readily say I see God’s favor on my life. What a revelation though that God takes pleasure in me.
Prayer – Lord thank You for making me acceptable.
