Scripture – He has already tended you by pruning you back for greater strength and usefulness by means of the commands I gave you. John 15:3
Thoughts about what this Scripture says – God’s commands prune me for greater strength and usefulness.
Application to my life – God’s pruning comes as I submit to His commands, written and verbal. They are meant for my strengthening and usefulness fo God’s purpose. Why do I fight His pruning if it is meant for my good? I want to walk in greater strength in the Lord and want to be more useful to the Kingdom. If that means things have to be cut, then cut away Lord! Create in me a clean heart and renew in me a steadfast spirit. I want to do His will. I want to walk in His strength. I want to be useful for His Kingdom.
Response to the Lord – Lord, until Tuesday I didn’t realize how close I was to being spent. As always, You sent someone to speak words that You knew would cut to my heart. God I know that I don’t want my old life back. Things are much better with You. I don’t like the feeling of discontentment that comes when I am close to that edge. I don’t want to teeter on the edge, I want to be sold out completely to You. Guide me to where I am supposed to go. Lead me on the path You have laid for me in Jesus name amen.
