Resemble Him

Scripture – See how very much our heavenly Father loves us, for he allows us to be called his children—think of it—and we really are! But since most people don’t know God, naturally they don’t understand that we are his children. Yes, dear friends, we are already God’s children, right now, and we can’t even imagine what it is going to be like later on. But we do know this, that when he comes we will be like him, as a result of seeing him as he really is. 1 John 3:1-2

Thoughts about what this Scripture means – I am a child of God. I will resemble Christ when He returns.

Application to my life – I am a child of God. I have always thought of this Scripture that when Jesus returns I will be transformed. But now I think that he is transforming me now. I will see Him as He is when He returns. I will see more clearly how He is redefining me, but the process will be complete at His return.

Response back to God – Lord, thank You for making me Your child and that I am already beginning to resemble You. Lord, I await the day that I will see You as You are. Until then, keep making me more like You.
