The Gem comes after

Scripture – For you have a new life. It was not passed on to you from your parents, for the life they gave you will fade away. This new one will last forever, for it comes from Christ, God’s ever-living Message to men. 1 Peter 1:23

Thoughts about what this Scripture Means – I have been born again into everlasting life from Jesus.

Application to my life – My life is new. It began at age eight, but much like developmental in my natural body, there has been times of stented growth and even regression.

I read this type of scripture and I think I should have not had the life I did because I was saved at age 8. I feel shamed by my past because it was past or post new life. Then one day. I realized God knew what He was getting when He saved me. He knew what choices I would make and He saved me anyway. These experiences made me who I am and are part of the passion that drives me. He knew what He would have to sift through to make me who I am today. He is peeling back the layers and revealing the design that he gave me. He is revealing the treasure within.

Response back to God – Lord thank You for showing me that even through my failures You were at work. Thank you that diamonds were once a fresh piece of coal but only when it was very deep in the dirt that it turned into the gem that you designed it to be. The dirt came after the coal was created. The gem came after the dirt.
