The Temple

Scripture – Don’t you realize that all of you together are the house of God, and that the Spirit of God lives among you in his house? 1 Corinthians 3:16

Thought about what Scripture means – I am the temple of God and His Holy Spirit dwells in me.

Application to my Life – In the old days the temple was the place where people repented of their sins, made attoinment, and their sacrifice is made. Jesus did away with the need for atonement but I still have to repent and offer my as a living sacrifice. This is possible because the same Spirit that was in Jesus lives in me.

I have abused my temple in the past. I am working to submit my body to Christ. On days these seems hard. I must remember that the same Holy Spirit lives in me and empowers me.

Response to God – Lord, forgive me for not taking care of my body, Your temple and at times sacrificing it to other things. I repent and want to submit to completely to You. Help me to submit every area of my life to You in obedience to Your Holy Spirit within me.
