What I Put in and What Comes out

ScriptureNo one who has become part of God’s family makes a practice of sinning, for Christ, God’s Son, holds him securely, and the devil cannot get his hands on him. I John 5:18

Thought about what the Scripture means – I don’t need to go on sinning as Jesus holds me securely in his hands and the devil can’t get to me.

Application to my life – Despite everything that goes on in this world, I am secure in God. The enemy can’t pull me out. He can attack me but my security is in God. I need to look at my life for areas of sin, because I don’t need to give the enemy a foothold in my life. I don’t have to live that way as part of God’s family.

My complaining and negative attitude shouldn’t continue. My overeating is a sin as it is not caring for my body which is the temple of God’s Holy Spirit. Allowing my anger to rise and not submitting my mouth so He can control my tongue is a sin. Wow! All this has to do with my mouth, how much I put in and what comes out.

Response to God – Lord, thank You for the security and safety I have in You. That as I be faithful to submit You will continue to work the sin out of my life. Thank You for Your protective hand in my life. I lift up Mendi and her family to You minister to them as only You can.
