I Choose

ScriptureFor the Holy Spirit, God’s gift, does not want you to be afraid of people, but to be wise and strong, and to love them and enjoy being with them. 2 Timothy 1:7

Thoughts about what scripture means – God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind.

Application to my life – Because of the Holy Spirit living within me, I have His power, His love, and His wisdom. My God placed these within me to walk out. The same power that rose Jesus from the dead lives in me. The love of God has been spread abroad in me to share with those around me. God’s wisdom is in me. I have a sound mind. This word is sōphronismos is is part sozo – delivered, rescued, revived, salvaged, protected, safe, and secure. It is also part phroneo – intelligence or total frame of thinking, rational, logic or emotions.

It gor=es beyond fear to realize I have a choice on what to focus on, God’s thoughts or my own fleshly thoughts. I can chose to walk in God’s power, it is already in me or live according to my weakness. I can choose to love in God’s perfect love or I can let mu own imperfect love lead. I can choose to live in God’s total frame of thinking or I can walk through life with my own imperfect thinking. Who do I choose to listen to? Where do I meditate and how much power and love do I chose to access?

Response back to God – Father God, let me walk in the fullness of Your power, your love, and your framework of thinking. Let me not back down in fear but let Your fullness rise up within me.
