He’s Still Working on Me

ScriptureAnd I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns. Philippians 1:6

Thoughts about Passage – God will complete the good work in me.

Application to my life – I have always taught that the enemy can not take us out before our time on earth is finished. That a failed suicide is God’s way of saying “I haven’t finished the good work in you.” However, I might be wrong, because this scripture says the good work won’t be complete until the day of Christ’s return. AKA – I will always be a work in progress.

When I get hard on myself because I am not where I should be, He’s still working on me.

When I hear the enemy condemn me for failing, yet again – He’s still working on me.

When other’s point out my mistakes – He’s still working on me.

God started the work in me and it is up to Him to finish it. I have to be obedient and submit but the only part of this scripture that has to do with me – is that I am the one receiving the work and I grow.

It is God that began the good work.

It is God that is helping me grow.

It is God’s task in me.

That is a promise to hold on to!

Response to God – Father, thank You for starting a good work in me and continuing to help me grow in the path and tasks You created me to do. Lord, I do want to accomplish what You have placed in me. Lord, do in me what needs to be sone so You can do through me what You designed me for.
