In Christ

Scripture – Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. Colossians 3:1-4

Thought about what it means – We have been raised to new life in Christ. We should set our sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about things of heaven, not things of this earth. We are dead to this life and our real life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life is revealed to the whole world , we will share in His glory.

Application to my life – I am hidden with Christ in God. When I get to heaven I will live in God’s time which is not linear. Because God exists outside of time, I am technically in heaven already, hidden in Christ. I am in He. He is in me. That is a sobering thought.

Response to God – Lord, help me to stay hidden in You as I walk out on earth what You have planned for me. Help me to keep an eternal perspective not only in my life but as I help others. Help me keep my focus on what really matters.
