A Prayer and Thoughts from Exodus 34-38

A prayer from Exodus 34

Lord, merciful and gracious are you, longsuffering and abounding always in goodness and truth. If I have found favor in Your sight let my Lord go with me, even though I am currently unruly and stubborn. Pardon my iniquity and my sin. Take me into Your inheritance.

Exodus 35

The people’s hearts were stirred and spirits were moved to bring an offering for the service of the Lord. Both men and women were active in the building of the tabernacle of the Lord. They worked together and complemented each other.

Exodus 36

When the people followed their hearts and spirit, they were moved to give more than enough for the ministry. So much that Moses had to order them to stop!

The people bring much more than enough for doing the work that the Lord has commanded us to do.” So Moses gave command, and word was proclaimed throughout the camp, “Let no man or woman do anything more for the contribution for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing, for the material they had was sufficient to do all the work, and more. Exodus 36:5-7

Lord, help me to give from my heart and be lead by Your Spirit in my giving.

Exodus 37

God continued to give very specific instructions on the tools used in the temple, including the Ark of the Covenant, the table, the lampstand and the incense alter.

Exodus 38

Each person who was over twenty years old gave an equal tax. This silver was used for the tabernacle. People also gave offering of bronze.
