Lay down your life. All other references to laying down, “get up” is God’s command. Don’t lay around all your life with a passive attitude. You can’t run the race laying down. Look up to God.
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. I John 3:16
Sit in the Heavenly Realms. For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6
After the assentation, all references to Christ He is seated. Before Him, it was covenant of rest. If you don’t learn how to sit, you will keep coming to the point of giving up. Jesus entered the rest of God and was seated at God’s right hand. We must also enter the rest of God. He moves us from glory to glory.
Stand. We are to stand against the enemy. We must remain spiritually seated as we stand against the enemy.
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. Ephesians 6:11
Walk. Walk the walk, put one foot in front of the other to get where God wants to take you. Focus on the journey. Obey what God tells you.
For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7
Run. After you have learned lay down your life, to sit, to stand and to walk, you will be ready to run. Run stead, active and persistently.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, Hebrews 12:1
Rest. Enter the rest of God concerning your children. But now this is what the Lord says: “Do not weep any longer, for I will reward you,” says the Lord. “Your children will come back to you from the distant land of the enemy. There is hope for your future,” says the Lord. “Your children will come again to their own land. Jeremiah 31:16-17
