A Prayer in my Weakness

God I am a wretched sinner. I come to You asking for forgiveness for my lack of patience, my angry attitude, my judgmental thoughts, and those are just the sins from the past hour. Lord forgive me of my sins and help me to be the person You made me to be.

Help me to crucify my flesh and walk in Your Spirit. Help me to have, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Forgive me Lord for breaking my children’s spirit. Help me to disciple in love, not anger and impatience.

Lord I love You and thank You for Your grace and mercy. Lord, I don’t want to give up, but I don’t want to fight the injustices that go on in this world to both children and families. Help me to find a job that meets the needs of our family, but also helps me fight the battle before me. Help me not to hurt those I love in doing so either. I know there are hurting people on the other end of the battle too and that end is also close to home. Help me to advocate in the right places with the right information.

I pray for those who are struggling with their identity, help them to see themselves as You do. Work in the midst of families that tear each other down, help them to build each other up instead.

I pray for those families where there is brokenness. Bring restoration and healing. Unite children with their mothers and or fathers. Help parents to see that their child is not a pawn to use against the other parent, and that children need both parents. Teach parents to work together for what is best for their child. Allow children to feel the love of their family and keep every child safe.

I pray for the marriages of those in pastoral roles. Lord bind them together in unity. Help them to keep their first ministry to You and then to each other. Strengthen them, encourage them, put an Aaron and Ur in their life to hold up their hands when they are weary.

I pray for Your Church. Lord help us to seek You in all we do. Break the chains of oppression and the masks that are being masqueraded in the church. Let people truly be themselves in Your House. Then the hurting people will get healed and the lost will be found. Let us start afresh in You.

I pray for my husband that You would draw Him to You. Let Him be the man that You created him to be.

I lift up my children tou You. Lord, You know their examples are not great. So if they could have a really close relationship with You, I would really appreciate it because I know you won’t cause them to go astray.

Lord be with those who are mourning the loss of a loved one. Help them to see the light, not the one at the end of the tunnel, but Lord Your light, NOW and throughout their journey that lies ahead. Be with the children who have experienced loss. Comfort them and bring them through this difficult time. Bring restoration in families impacted by loss, in every generation.

Lord I lift up marriages to You. Help couples to see their partner is not the enemy. Bring restoration and healing. Where one faces mental health issues, strengthen their partner’s resolve. Help both take action to save their marriage, Help the family and friends that are around these broken relationship speak life and God into them.

I pray for those in need of provision for their basic needs. Open their eyes to the resources around them, help them to find employment to meet the family needs. Help them to be diligent to do their part, but also bring people around them that can provide hope and help while they get back on their feet.

Lord, I thank You that Your wisdom is available to anyone who asks of it. I love You and praise You and thank You for salvation and meeting all my needs.

In Jesus Name. Amen.
