Walk In It

And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21 Sunday, my pastor made a comment about how the armor of God covers your front to protect you from the enemy. He said "we... Continue Reading →

Laying aside Falsehood

“Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.” Ephesians‬ ‭4:25‬ ‭‬‬ I value honesty. There was a time in my life where I was anything but honest. As an adolescent I could spend the best tale. I’m not sure I was honest about... Continue Reading →

Processed Piles

Sitting at the claim watching my husband prospect, I was again looking for what lesson God wanted to show me. I am always reminded of the scriptures that talk of searching for treasure when we are at one of the claims. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Luke 12:34 For it is... Clanging Cymbal

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. I Corinthians 13:1 I spent much of the early years of my life, and early years of my marriage as a clanging cymbal or a noisy gong. I have always been... Continue Reading →

Disciplined

“If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.” Hebrews‬ ‭12:8‬ ‭‬‬ My daughter was sharing with me about a trip she went on recently with several other mothers and their children. She talked about the struggle as each of the ladies parented differently. It... Continue Reading →

Strength, Dignity and Laughter

Strength and dignity are her clothing,    and she laughs at the time to come. Proverbs 31:25 She laughs, that speaks of the joy of the Lord. When I am walking in His strength regardless what I face, He will help me face the future with laughter and a smile. Dignity, regardless of what happens knowing I'm... Continue Reading →

Do they say these things about you?

For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the... Beautifully Broken

Song of Solomon 4:7, encourages acceptance of brokenness and finding beauty within it. Reflecting on Kintsugi art, the writer sees God infusing gold into their brokenness. Despite self-perceived flaws, God sees them as altogether beautiful. The prayer is to embrace this view and build relationships within the church.

The Cross

“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are saved it is the power of God.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:18‬ If I stop and really try to rationalize the cross, it makes no sense. It seems absurd - one man reconciling all men back to God. Jesus... Continue Reading →

Serpents and Doves

“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves." Matthew 10:16 This passage stuck out to me because of the sheep, serpents and doves. Sheep are followers of the master. Serpents are an emblem of wisdom and doves are innocent. Jesus sends us out... Continue Reading →
