Rejoice

When I was little, we sang a song often that was based on Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always, and again i say rejoice. Rejoice in the Lord always, and again i say rejoice Rejoice, rejoice And again I say rejoice Rejoice, rejoice And again I say rejoice Rejoice in the Lord always, and... Continue Reading →

From faith to fruit #Write31Days

As we build our faith, we must be disciplined to add to our faith virtue.  Virtue is behavior showing high moral standards.  See, it's not enough to just believe, our actions must turn into behaviors. God accepts us where we are in faith, but then He helps us to grow into the unique person that we... Continue Reading →

The Stewardship of Grace

A second thought to me came about the Charity of Grace.  Another argument I often give, when faced with the opportunity to share God's grace with others is that I don't know what they are going to use it for.  If I give someone cash, they could use it to buy alcohol or drugs. Or... Continue Reading →

The Grace of Charity

I was watching Robert Morris this morning "What's so Amazing about Grace" sermon.  He gave a definition of grace as "the unmerited, undeserved, unearned kindness and favor of God."  It struck me, and was completely untied to the message that God always gives us a chance to walk out, to be like Him, here on... What’s Wrong with my love

My pastors are teaching a series on the 9 fruit of the Spirit. Today the topic was love. We were challenged to read I Corinthians 13 daily. As I was doing this tonight another comment from the sermon jumped out. "If we are not exhibiting the 9 fruit in our lives, something is wrong with our love." I admit to being a little self-righteous in my thinking about love. I "love" people, genuinely. I haven't met anyone that I dislike. I don't hate anyone. So I thought I was doing pretty good in this area. Then in the sermon, the preacher pointed out that love, God's defined love is Agape love. It is defined in the scriptures and I fall so incredibly short.

Resisting Comfort

2 Corinthians 1-3-7 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given... Continue Reading →

Settle

Numbers 32:1-5 The tribes of Reuben and Gad owned vast numbers of livestock. So when they saw that the lands of Jazer and Gilead were ideally suited for their flocks and herds,  they came to Moses, Eleazar the priest, and the other leaders of the community. They said,  “Notice the towns of Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer,... Continue Reading →

But God

I have very few memories from childhood. What few I have that are my own (Not stories told to me or remembered through pictures), are negative memories, But God. I am the youngest of five siblings, my oldest brother is ten years older and the closest in age sibling died at birth two years before I... Continue Reading →

Who are we missing?

1 Corinthians 3:6 (NKJV) I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.   God awoke me with another vivid dream, which left me worried.  I knew God was speaking to me about something deeper than what I was seeing.  I woke up again repenting and praying God would redeem the time. I work in a... Continue Reading →
