Armored up and Standing in Power

Believers are urged to pray constantly, equipped with the full armor of God. Using different Greek words, the text explains that believers must offer prayer, make supplications for others, and pray in the power of the Spirit. The true power lies in praying in the power of the Holy Spirit, not in our own strength.

Deeper Things

Jesus took Peter, John, and James to a mountain. While praying, His appearance changed, and Moses and Elijah appeared, speaking of His coming death. Peter suggested making shelters for them. A cloud overshadowed them, and God declared Jesus as His Son. This interaction with Moses and Elijah may have ministered to Jesus or served as a reminder of His mission. The disciples were instructed to listen to Jesus.

Mountains

There will be days in our lives we will face mountains. Some mountains will feel distant and others may feel larger than life. Some have more obstacles, like the snow cap, and others don’t seem too bad. Regardless, of how big they are, we can face them with God on our side. ”And He *said... Continue Reading →

Levels of Ministry

Large crowds sought Jesus for teaching and healing. Despite this, he prioritized solitary prayer and disciple teaching. His ministry combined large gatherings, small groups, and personal prayers, setting an example for a balanced approach to ministry. This demonstrates the importance of community while also seeking personal connection with God.

Secluded Service

This passage from Luke 4:42-44 shows Jesus seeking solitude, but being interrupted by crowds seeking Him. Despite His own need for solitude, He ministers to them, demonstrating compassion. The writer relates to this struggle, reflecting on the balance between serving others and seeking personal solitude with God. The prayer asks for guidance in navigating these tensions.

Love Dream

The narrative describes a father's dedication to guarding his daughter's heart until her wedding, symbolized by a locket containing scripture about love. He entrusts this responsibility to the groom, emphasizing the importance of love and value each person should feel from God and others. The story highlights trust in divine love and personal worth.

Two Way Conversation

At Jesus' baptism, he was praying and heaven opened. The Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice from heaven said, “You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.” This shows prayer as a two-way conversation, and the Holy Spirit speaks to us through his still small voice and guidance.

They Do Not Know

But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves. Luke 23:34 Jesus was hanging on the cross praying for forgiveness for those who put Him on the cross. He was praying for those who tortured Him. He was praying for... Continue Reading →

Enter Into Temptation and Strengthened in the Spirit

”And He came out and proceeded as was His custom to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed Him. When He arrived at the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.” And He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and began to... Continue Reading →
