Great Self-Control

Tonight in women’s Bible study we studied self-control. One of the questions we were asked to consider was “What biblical examples can you find of people who demonstrate great self-control and what can you learn from them?” I admit as I wrote down my response, I was surprised at what came up for me, as... A National Fast

““Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. Who knows if... Continue Reading →

They Do Not Know

But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves. Luke 23:34 Jesus was hanging on the cross praying for forgiveness for those who put Him on the cross. He was praying for those who tortured Him. He was praying for... Continue Reading →

Confess Your Sins to Another

”Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.“ ‭‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭‬ I think we often just want to confess our sins to God, receive forgiveness and move on. Only Because

Christ is the means through which all our sins are forgiven. Yet, it is essential to acknowledge him as our Savior to receive this forgiveness. As Christians, we should refrain from judging others for their sins and instead help them experience God's grace and forgiveness, just as we have. The difference in destiny between us and those unaware of their sins lies solely in accepting Jesus. We have a responsibility to spread the Gospel and guide others towards His forgiveness.

Cancelled

he canceled the unfavorable record of our debts with its binding rules and did away with it completely by nailing it to the cross. Colossians 2:14 I spent many years holding on to the record of my sin, despite God canceling it. I tried to carry the penalty even though the penalty had been knelt... Continue Reading →

Repentance

Let your broken heart show your sorrow; tearing your clothes is not enough.” Come back to the Lord your God. He is kind and full of mercy; he is patient and keeps his promise; he is always...
