Do they say these things about you?

For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the... Beautifully Broken

Song of Solomon 4:7, encourages acceptance of brokenness and finding beauty within it. Reflecting on Kintsugi art, the writer sees God infusing gold into their brokenness. Despite self-perceived flaws, God sees them as altogether beautiful. The prayer is to embrace this view and build relationships within the church.

Hearing Faith

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” Romans‬ ‭10:17‬ I read some more recently about how modern churches tend to pick out a few scriptures and develop a message around them. But also how the foundation of Christianity full chapters of books would be read aloud in ministry to the... Continue Reading →

Put On

Today in church, Pastor Ness talked briefly about things that we need to put on. He mentioned righteousness, the armor of God, the new creation, and light. Maybe it stood out to me as I recently studied out the Armor of God. Maybe it was that putting something on takes an intentional effort, and I... Continue Reading →

The Leaven of Compromise

“Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough?” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭ My mom used to make homemade rolls and bread. I feel like I have a lot of memories of those but maybe it was just holidays. When I learned how To make... Continue Reading →

Armored Stand

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.” Ephesians‬ ‭6:11‬ Two things stand out to me in this scripture. The first is we need the WHOLE armor of God. Second, we are called to stand firm. The key to being able... Continue Reading →

Confirmation of Peace

“not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.” 2 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:2‬ Make Up Your Mind To Live Fearlessly And Peacefully in These Last Days! message from Rick...
